SHH Corn On the Cob - Have it your way!!

Perfect corn on the cob every time.This recipe Describes various methods for preparing and cooking fresh corn on the cob in season.
For a savory finish,spread the golden ears with one of Swisher Hill Herbs flavored butters.

Ingredients
1/2 - 1 Doz. Ears Fresh Corn
1 or 2 pkgs. Swisher Hill Herb Dip/butter mix.
2 sticks Butter or margerine

Step by Step Instructions
  1. How to clean corn: • Remove husks and silk just before cooking. • To get rid of stubborn strands of silk, hold the ear under cold running water and lightly run a vegetable brush along the rows between kernels, moving toward the stem.
  2. How to boil corn Hot water method: Bring a large pot of water to boiling. You may add a little sugar or milk, but no salt, it toughens the corn. •Slide cleaned corn into boiling water; don’t over crowd; cover. When water returns to boiling, cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Drain and serve.
  3. How to boil corn Cold water Method: Place cleaned ears in large, deep skillet or flame proof baking pan without over crowding. Cover with cold water.Cover skillet. Bring to boiling over medium-high heat. Remove skillet from heat.Drain corn and serve.
  4. How to grill corn in the Husks: Pull husks back, leaving attached at the end. Remove the silk and butter ears.Re-cover ears with husks. Tie ends with string 10 minutes. Grill corn over hot to medium coals ( or gas grill) for 15 to 20 minutes, turning every 3 to 4 minutes. Husks will char. Carefully remove hot husks, using oven mitts. Serve
  5. How to cook in aluminum Foil:Butter cleaned ears and loosely wrap each ear in heavy duty aluminum foil. Grill over hot coals ( or gas grill) 15 to 20 minutes, turning ears every 5 to 6 minutes Serve
  6. How to microwave corn:Place each cleaned ear on a piece of waxed paper. Brush ears with melted butter; wrap in Paper, twisting ends closed. •Microwave one ear at full power 2 ½ to 3 minutes; 2 ears for 5 ½ to 6 minutes. Serve hot with one or more of swisher Hill Herbs butters.
  7. How to make the herb butter;s elect one or more pkg of Swisher Hill Herbs dip blends Using a food processor or small mixer, thoroughly blend 1 pkg. of dip mix with 1/2 cup of butter or margarine( can use salt free butter or margarine). Scrape herb butter onto a piece of wax paper and shape into 2 logs about 6 to 8" inches long. roll logs up in wax paper, twisting the ends of the paper to seal,wrap tightly in aluminum foil . Refrigerate for a day for flavors to develop.Slice off pats to serve on corn.( or burgers,steak,fish,cooked vegetables) Unused butter may be frozen up to 6 months to be used later.
