The local foods movement is alive and well in Champaign County! Here are some updates on other projects while we finalize our virtual market:
Local Producers Map:
Our local producers map is ready for publication and you will soon be able to find it on gochampaign.com. Copies will be distributed around the community, in the local telephone book, and other “hangouts”. The guide lists the location and contact information for nearly 50 local producers within our county. The map was a project of the Local Food Council and printed with the help of some local sponsors including the Monument Square District, Champaign Bank, the Community Improvement Corporation, the Chamber of Commerce, the Farm Bureau and others. It is a great start to finding a local source for Champaign County’s finest!

Good day everyone! I wanted to quickly wish you a fantastic morning and a joyous week to each of you! The beautiful weather we have been having is surely good for our souls, isn’t it? I find myself chipping away at those unkind projects around the house with a smile (even if some spider webs have to be dismantled from behind the couch which seems to be their favorite hangout for some reason!). This time of year is simply charming!
As I took to the road Saturday to check out our neighbors to the north at the Marysville Farmers Market I wanted to challenge each of you to a task. If you wish we sold something on our market site, please let us know. Our vendors are very supportive of helping all of us with solutions to our search for good options. Even better, if you experience something from a vendor at another market that has something we do not, please tell them about our market. We are always excited to add different and delicious finds! Also, if you enjoy the market please share our story! We can always reward our vendors with more opportunities if we have a strong base of customers for them!
