The local foods movement is alive and well in Champaign County! Here are some updates on other projects while we finalize our virtual market:
Local Producers Map:
Our local producers map is ready for publication and you will soon be able to find it on gochampaign.com. Copies will be distributed around the community, in the local telephone book, and other “hangouts”. The guide lists the location and contact information for nearly 50 local producers within our county. The map was a project of the Local Food Council and printed with the help of some local sponsors including the Monument Square District, Champaign Bank, the Community Improvement Corporation, the Chamber of Commerce, the Farm Bureau and others. It is a great start to finding a local source for Champaign County’s finest!
Hey, Hey, What Can I Do?
Just a little Led Zeppelin action, this morning!
Go ahead, grab your own Zeppelin tune, and turn it up! While you are at it, turn up the heat on your ordering game! Why? Well, first, it’s Tuesday, the last day to get in the game, this week!
Second, the holiday weekend begins o. Friday, and you will want to make sure you are stocked and ready with local delights, from this little local market of love!
You may have noticed that my products are in vacation mode! I have never done vacation mode! It freaked me out to tap the button! But, I am actuallly going on vacation!!
I will be music festival bound on Thursday!! Camping, music, fun, wardrobe changes..it’s all in my weekend plan! But, I will return, next week!!
So, think about grilling, seasonal produce, herbs, spices, dairy, honey, maple syrup, baked goods, salads, eggs, jams, jellies, frozen berries, it’s all happening on this market! Just for you!
