The local foods movement is alive and well in Champaign County! Here are some updates on other projects while we finalize our virtual market:
Local Producers Map:
Our local producers map is ready for publication and you will soon be able to find it on gochampaign.com. Copies will be distributed around the community, in the local telephone book, and other “hangouts”. The guide lists the location and contact information for nearly 50 local producers within our county. The map was a project of the Local Food Council and printed with the help of some local sponsors including the Monument Square District, Champaign Bank, the Community Improvement Corporation, the Chamber of Commerce, the Farm Bureau and others. It is a great start to finding a local source for Champaign County’s finest!

Because when I think about this little market, and how proud it makes me that you still allow me to manage it, tend to it, help to grow it along, that it fills my heart with love.
We are well into another year of our market, going into our 6th year! First of all…how amazing is that?? How amazing that in the very beginning we were shunned, doubted, and thought of very negatively. But, the light seekers, the positive forces, those of us who saw the far away vision, the secret, knew what an amazing gift this market would be to our community!!
Our county is lucky to have a physical, seasonal farmers’ market, at just about every edge of it. And, then, here we are, year round, just singing, and smiling, and filling orders, and moving right along.
We love the community support of this market! We love YOU for ordering from this market! We love our VENDORS for providing us with the best of the best, each week!
So, here we are on a beautiful Tuesday, rounding out the end of June, and we are singing our love song to you…
