The local foods movement is alive and well in Champaign County! Here are some updates on other projects while we finalize our virtual market:
Local Producers Map:
Our local producers map is ready for publication and you will soon be able to find it on gochampaign.com. Copies will be distributed around the community, in the local telephone book, and other “hangouts”. The guide lists the location and contact information for nearly 50 local producers within our county. The map was a project of the Local Food Council and printed with the help of some local sponsors including the Monument Square District, Champaign Bank, the Community Improvement Corporation, the Chamber of Commerce, the Farm Bureau and others. It is a great start to finding a local source for Champaign County’s finest!

It looks like another beautiful day, as we approach more holiday fun.
If you get a moment of time, don’t forget to place your weekly orders from our market!!
The growers are all in unison, hoping, with each week, that THIS will be the week of growth!! We are adding new vendors, and growers, with each week!! I just updated eggs from Laughman’s, as they are on vacation, and needed to add eggs!!
I am getting ready to add our new honey vendor!! Local favorite, Lippincott Honey!!
Our local creamery is enjoying their sudden burst onto the local scene, as they are found and more and more markets!!
It’s all happening, all the time…look for new vendors, Live Simply, Live Richly Farm with their microgreens!! We last knew Bree as our gluten free baker, and now she and her family are back with their farm, and microgreens!
