The Weblog

The local foods movement is alive and well in Champaign County! Here are some updates on other projects while we finalize our virtual market:

Local Producers Map:
Our local producers map is ready for publication and you will soon be able to find it on gochampaign.com. Copies will be distributed around the community, in the local telephone book, and other “hangouts”. The guide lists the location and contact information for nearly 50 local producers within our county. The map was a project of the Local Food Council and printed with the help of some local sponsors including the Monument Square District, Champaign Bank, the Community Improvement Corporation, the Chamber of Commerce, the Farm Bureau and others. It is a great start to finding a local source for Champaign County’s finest!

Over The Hills and Far Away

Hey lady, you got the love I need
Maybe more than enough
Oh darling, darling, darling
Walk a while with me
Ohh, you’ve got so much, so much, so much

Many have I loved, and many times been bitten
Many times I’ve gazed along the open road

Many times I’ve lied, and many times I’ve listened
Many times I’ve wondered how much there is to know

Many dreams come true, and some have silver linings
I live for my dream, and a pocket full of gold

Mellow is the man who knows what he’s been missing
Many, many men can’t see the open road

Many is a word that only leaves you guessing
Guessing ’bout a thing you really ought to know, oh, oh, oh, oh
Really ought to know
I really ought to know
Oh
You know I should, you know I should, you know I should, you know I should?…
(Led Zeppelin)

So…the weather, today, was nothing short of spectacular. Could you feel the shift? The hints of warm, the nuances of the rebellion that spring days bring?

I remember my high school days, and the reckless abandon that these early spring days would bring. Taking off from school, jumping into all of the muscle cars, windows down, hitching a ride off to fun. Shedding flannel shirts and jeans for tshirts and cutoffs…blaring music, cruising in the local park where I grew up, tossing frisbees, blaring car stereos with Led Zeppelin, and gearing up for one heck of a spring/summer pocketful of gold…

Anyway, this weather has me recharged, ready to open the market for another week, and hoping that you are all catching the same spring vibe that I am…

Toss us some orders…and then just mellow out…let the sunshine vibes take over…

XOXO,
Cosmic Pam
