The local foods movement is alive and well in Champaign County! Here are some updates on other projects while we finalize our virtual market:
Local Producers Map:
Our local producers map is ready for publication and you will soon be able to find it on gochampaign.com. Copies will be distributed around the community, in the local telephone book, and other “hangouts”. The guide lists the location and contact information for nearly 50 local producers within our county. The map was a project of the Local Food Council and printed with the help of some local sponsors including the Monument Square District, Champaign Bank, the Community Improvement Corporation, the Chamber of Commerce, the Farm Bureau and others. It is a great start to finding a local source for Champaign County’s finest!

Special Market Pick Up, Today!
Hello, lovely customers!!
Today is market pick up, but I am going to start the pick up process at 3pm, instead of beginning at 4pm!!
There is rain in the forecast for 5pm, and Champaign Berry is coming with to set up, with corn, tomatoes, squash, and cucumbers to sell!!!
I want everyone, weekly customers, and non-ordering customers to have a chance to come out, and grab all that they have to offer, and rain will not be fun to do that!!
So, this evening…market pick up begins at 3pm, and plan to shop from Champaign Berry while you are getting your orders!! Also, if you missed ordering, this week, feel free to run out to the farm, during market pick up, and shop from Champaign Berry!

Can you believe it’s Tuesday morning, and that the weekly ordering will close in one hour?
Did you also see all of the AMAZING garlic varieties, peppers, tomatoes, spaghetti squash, kale, lettuces, and fresh berries?
I mean…we’ve got it all!!!! But, most importantly, now is the time to act on the seasonal items!!

Sweet Corn and Summer Squash!!
YES!! Champaign Berry will once again be at market pickup, today, 4pm-6pm, or until supplies run out, and will have 1/2 dozen, full dozen of corn, and their squash!!
You don’t have to be an ordering customer, this week, to drive out for your sweet corn/squash needs!!
Also…the market will be on vacation, next week, so get it while you can!! It makes a great addition to your fair week, as well!

Happy Thursday evening, market lovelies!
Just coming home after a lovely market pick up, (hot, but lovely), and I loved chatting with each of you!!
And, now, here I am putting this song implant into your head. Just a happy little tune. I actually had a hair appointment, earlier in the week, with my hair girl in Yellow Springs. I was her only customer, that afternoon, as she likes to book customers with plenty of time to just spend zenning out. Anyway, she picked a playlist of songs from that very late 80s to early 90s genre. This popped on, and we both started singing. They whole afternoon was just filled with silliness and music. It was a perfect couple of hours of escape.
Anyway…I thought it would be a fun opening song for the market ordering week!
Go ahead…turn it up, sing it, dance it…cause things will go your way…
And, this will be the last market before we close for the week of the Champaign County Fair!! Get all the goodness before the market takes a vacation.
I am putting all of my products, along with Hippie and the Farmer products, back on the market, now that I have a bit of breathing room from catering for a few weeks!
So, go ahead…get those orders in before you have to HOLD ON for a week of market vacation!!
I see that JC Growers just added their chem free spaghetti squash!!!

Champaign Berry will be set up, in the driveway of the market, with the season’s sweet corn!! They will be ready to sell at 4pm, and will be at the market until 6pm, or until they are sold out!
