The Weblog

The local foods movement is alive and well in Champaign County! Here are some updates on other projects while we finalize our virtual market:

Local Producers Map:
Our local producers map is ready for publication and you will soon be able to find it on gochampaign.com. Copies will be distributed around the community, in the local telephone book, and other “hangouts”. The guide lists the location and contact information for nearly 50 local producers within our county. The map was a project of the Local Food Council and printed with the help of some local sponsors including the Monument Square District, Champaign Bank, the Community Improvement Corporation, the Chamber of Commerce, the Farm Bureau and others. It is a great start to finding a local source for Champaign County’s finest!

Sunday Song Implant

Raindrops keep falling on my head
But that doesn’t mean my eyes will soon be turning red
Crying’s not for me
‘Cause I’m never gonna stop the rain by complaining
Because I’m free, ‘cause nothing’s worrying me…
(Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head-BJ Thomas)
Song implant from customer: Kathleen Smith

I loved market pick up on Thursday, with the total rainfall (because, well, we NEEDED it) and, delivering Kathleen’s order to her trunk, she yelled out this song. So perfect, and I hummed it to myself, the rest of the night…

And, so perfect for this morning, on this raindrop kind of day. The kind of day perfect for sitting and ordering. The kind of day that is perfect for your market manager to stay put, spin some tunes, and get organized in all areas of her life…lol.

The past few months have been crazy, and little by little, a bit of catering has come back into play, along with this crazy busy market, and then Hippie and the Farmer weekend events at the farm. So, with all the busy, also finds your manager with all of her vintage bags, filled with paperwork, lip glosses, torn pieces of paper with notes to myself, missing two of my French silk scarves, reservations for the weekend events, and the list goes on.

These kind of days are perfect for emptying all of them out, pitching what I no longer need, and reorganize my life.

When I spend a productive Sunday, my weeks are then a breeze. Don’t get me wrong…Sundays spent sipping mimosas, all morning, are my real favorite but then my weeks reflect that. A big mimosa mess…lol.

Anyway, while the raindrops are needed, outside, raindrops are also needed to reorganize, prioritize, and get my life all moving right along…

Also, I love all of your song implants, and keep a list with each of you, and your songs, so that each can appear in a weblog…I love them, so much, and each one makes me smile.

I’m off to get my market orders in…my first raindrop task to accomplish!

XOXO,
Cosmic Pam
