The local foods movement is alive and well in Champaign County! Here are some updates on other projects while we finalize our virtual market:

Local Producers Map:
Our local producers map is ready for publication and you will soon be able to find it on gochampaign.com. Copies will be distributed around the community, in the local telephone book, and other “hangouts”. The guide lists the location and contact information for nearly 50 local producers within our county. The map was a project of the Local Food Council and printed with the help of some local sponsors including the Monument Square District, Champaign Bank, the Community Improvement Corporation, the Chamber of Commerce, the Farm Bureau and others. It is a great start to finding a local source for Champaign County’s finest!

Where Rainbows Never Die

Waste away the sunsets
Where rainbows never die…
(The Steeldrivers)

Happy Thursday eve, lovely little market customers!

What a lovely market pick up, this evening. I loved being able to chat with each of you. It brought a smile to my face, and a song to my heart.

I’ve had a tough couple of days for me, after my cat of 17 years passed away, yesterday. My heart is just hurting, and today, I focused on baking, making all of the Cosmic soup, getting orders organized, tried not to cry too many times, and then looked forward to seeing all of your smiling faces. I guess I needed the chats more than I realized because while my sadness is still there, you each gave me a little bit of love, with each of your chats.

This song has been on my repeat of late. It’s beauty, it’s words. And, just like in all parts of my life, music gets me through the sad times.

I open the market, tonight, with all love and light…the market does that for me, and I hope for all of you.

Have an amazing evening…

XOXO,
Cosmic Pam
