The local foods movement is alive and well in Champaign County! Here are some updates on other projects while we finalize our virtual market:

Local Producers Map:
Our local producers map is ready for publication and you will soon be able to find it on gochampaign.com. Copies will be distributed around the community, in the local telephone book, and other “hangouts”. The guide lists the location and contact information for nearly 50 local producers within our county. The map was a project of the Local Food Council and printed with the help of some local sponsors including the Monument Square District, Champaign Bank, the Community Improvement Corporation, the Chamber of Commerce, the Farm Bureau and others. It is a great start to finding a local source for Champaign County’s finest!

Good morning, lovely market customers!

I’m coming to you from crazy wedding week central as the countdown continues to Saturday!!

Thank you, all of you, for being so patient, and still continuing with ordering!

It was a crazy wedding season of a summer leading into the wedding of weddings, this Saturday.

I will be so happy to return to you for all of your baking, and soup making, and market greeting days of order pick up!

Until then…let’s give a big shout out to your other market manager, and my father, who have been holding down the fort on Thursdays!!

You have about 15 minutes to get your orders in for the week!! And, I do see that eggs are nowhere to be found, so I will check with all of the egg vendors for the market’s reopening on Thursday evening!! I do know that many of my chicken owning friends are having the same issues…those chickens are just on strike, at the moment…

Ok…tossing out all the love to you, all the gratitude, and I look forward to returning to the market, full time!!

XOXO,
Cosmic Pam
