The local foods movement is alive and well in Champaign County! Here are some updates on other projects while we finalize our virtual market:
Local Producers Map:
Our local producers map is ready for publication and you will soon be able to find it on gochampaign.com. Copies will be distributed around the community, in the local telephone book, and other “hangouts”. The guide lists the location and contact information for nearly 50 local producers within our county. The map was a project of the Local Food Council and printed with the help of some local sponsors including the Monument Square District, Champaign Bank, the Community Improvement Corporation, the Chamber of Commerce, the Farm Bureau and others. It is a great start to finding a local source for Champaign County’s finest!

This month, May, marks our 11th year anniversary from when the market first went LIVE!! Can you believe it?? I remember the excitement of the unknown, the untested, and the sometimes unwanted online market!
We started with humble beginnings, at the YMCA, and we have continued to pave the way, each and every year.
You, the customers deserve all the love, as well as our hard working vendors!! Some of us have been in the trenches, since the beginning, of this market. Some of us have been in all the markets for going on 14 seasons, like me! Some of us have managed many of your local, seasonal markets, and some of us are coming in new to the game! We boast the best of the best, and we are proud to bring you this love, each and every week!
AND…more LOVE…when the market reopens on Thursday evening, you will see the return of S&S Naturals with her elderberry products!!!! YAY!!!
And, you will see the return of products from both my Cosmic Charlie Bread Adventures AND Hippie and the Farmer!!
I am healing, and I know to protect myself post injury, and I am excited to get back to what I LOVE!!
