The local foods movement is alive and well in Champaign County! Here are some updates on other projects while we finalize our virtual market:
Local Producers Map:
Our local producers map is ready for publication and you will soon be able to find it on gochampaign.com. Copies will be distributed around the community, in the local telephone book, and other “hangouts”. The guide lists the location and contact information for nearly 50 local producers within our county. The map was a project of the Local Food Council and printed with the help of some local sponsors including the Monument Square District, Champaign Bank, the Community Improvement Corporation, the Chamber of Commerce, the Farm Bureau and others. It is a great start to finding a local source for Champaign County’s finest!
Thursday Fun!
Hello, lovely customers of the market!!
First, welcome to another week of ordering fun!! You guys are going crazy with the orders, and we LOVE you for it!! Keep it coming, love!!
Second…we never know how long the asparagus season is so you need to continue you the love, while it’s still around!!
Third…no matter if you will have orders to pick up on Thursday, or you just want to come out to visit the market, but we will have a special tasting set up with the Stoll Farm/Vernon Family Beef vendors!! Get excited, as they will be on site, all set up, with samples of their 100% grass fed beef!
Come out, grab some samples at the tasting, and get to know them!! Ask them questions, get their story, and continue to know your farmers…
