The local foods movement is alive and well in Champaign County! Here are some updates on other projects while we finalize our virtual market:
Local Producers Map:
Our local producers map is ready for publication and you will soon be able to find it on gochampaign.com. Copies will be distributed around the community, in the local telephone book, and other “hangouts”. The guide lists the location and contact information for nearly 50 local producers within our county. The map was a project of the Local Food Council and printed with the help of some local sponsors including the Monument Square District, Champaign Bank, the Community Improvement Corporation, the Chamber of Commerce, the Farm Bureau and others. It is a great start to finding a local source for Champaign County’s finest!

Real ingredients. Not a mile long list of additives, preservatives, ingredients you have never heard of. The same with all of our products…the real deal…no fakes or phonies.
Fourth…and this is very important…the affordability of our market!!! YAY!!!! We all work hard, earn hard, spend hard…we want to bring you all of this local goodness at prices that make you smile, that won’t break the bank, and that leave you with a lot of that hard earned cash, still leftover for fun or other necessities.
We offer the goodness, the local vibe, the nutrition, and the amazing prices. We realize there are major chains you can shop, we realize that there are the upscale trendy foodie stores, we realize that you can drive 45 minutes to shop in trendy markets. BUT…think about the cost of gas, your time, the astounding bill at those places JUST so you can shop “local”, organic, etc…
Come together…we all work hard to bring this local movement to you, each and every week, and season. Smile on us, smile on your brother, your sister, smile on your market, your growers, your producers, your artisans…
