The Weblog

The local foods movement is alive and well in Champaign County! Here are some updates on other projects while we finalize our virtual market:

Local Producers Map:
Our local producers map is ready for publication and you will soon be able to find it on gochampaign.com. Copies will be distributed around the community, in the local telephone book, and other “hangouts”. The guide lists the location and contact information for nearly 50 local producers within our county. The map was a project of the Local Food Council and printed with the help of some local sponsors including the Monument Square District, Champaign Bank, the Community Improvement Corporation, the Chamber of Commerce, the Farm Bureau and others. It is a great start to finding a local source for Champaign County’s finest!

The Only Market You Will Ever Need!

The market is now open for the week!!

Thank you for always being such dedicated little local market of love customers!!

A huge thanks to Charlene for running the market, alone, tonight, so that Mark and I could work the Empty Bowls event!!

I was honored to be the bread donator for this event, and the love for my products were amazing!! I was honored to be asked to work with this amazing cause! Together, Mark and I took our new business expansion, Hippie and the Farmer, to the event as one of the evening’s soup sponsors!!

Thanks, so much, to all of you who came out, tonight!! It was crazy busy, and as many of you saw, at the last part of the evening, the breads were down to crumbs, and the many gallons of our soup was down to just a bit in the last container.

Your love and dedication to local is why we do what we do…all for you, all for this market, all for keeping the local vibe strong!

Go, order, be happy…
Peace, Love, Good Vibes…
