The local foods movement is alive and well in Champaign County! Here are some updates on other projects while we finalize our virtual market:
Local Producers Map:
Our local producers map is ready for publication and you will soon be able to find it on gochampaign.com. Copies will be distributed around the community, in the local telephone book, and other “hangouts”. The guide lists the location and contact information for nearly 50 local producers within our county. The map was a project of the Local Food Council and printed with the help of some local sponsors including the Monument Square District, Champaign Bank, the Community Improvement Corporation, the Chamber of Commerce, the Farm Bureau and others. It is a great start to finding a local source for Champaign County’s finest!
The Time Is Now
The time is ticking away, and you do not want to miss out on this amazing market week!!
We are seeing an amazing market, amazing orders, and more and more additional vendors trying to get on, get their pages set up, and if not ready but tonight’s deadline, watch for them on Thursday at the market opening!
So, did you get your ’shroom fix?? Mushrooms? Organic mushrooms? Go, now, order…Jay is doing amazing, fungi kind of things in his organic facility!!
Produce…organically grown but not organically certified…a mixed box! Like a mixed bag of tricks!! For produce!! From the Hippie and the Farmer’s gardens!!!

Welcoming back…Brad Gregg of Gregg Family Farms!! Next week, he will bring us all of his exotic peppers, ghost peppers, and, and, wait for it…his amazing sweet corn!!
All of this newness PLUS all of the vendors and products that you know and love!! Meats, spices, herbs, raspberries, baking supplies, garlic, breads, baked goods, dog treats, jams/jellies, lettuces, greens, fish, coffee, teas, eggs, produce, soaps, syrups…we have got it GOIN’ on!!!
Ok, the market will close at 10pm…race, don’t walk…order!
