The local foods movement is alive and well in Champaign County! Here are some updates on other projects while we finalize our virtual market:
Local Producers Map:
Our local producers map is ready for publication and you will soon be able to find it on gochampaign.com. Copies will be distributed around the community, in the local telephone book, and other “hangouts”. The guide lists the location and contact information for nearly 50 local producers within our county. The map was a project of the Local Food Council and printed with the help of some local sponsors including the Monument Square District, Champaign Bank, the Community Improvement Corporation, the Chamber of Commerce, the Farm Bureau and others. It is a great start to finding a local source for Champaign County’s finest!
A Little Holiday Haze...
Are you feeling the holiday goodness, this year? I know that it seems like it is coming, fast and furious, but I find myself quite taken by all of the lights, the music, the sounds, the festive warmth to the season. I love this time of year…but for some reason, joyous feelings, and new anticipations seem to be calling me, with nothing but excitement in the days to come.
I feel that I am taking more time in calmness, in making time for my people, my friends, and spreading the love, whenever I can.
This market, also my source of love sharing, is also anticipating the holiday by hoping that we can provide you with all that you need, want, desire. We hope that our market is always a sense of warmth, and gathering, during the year.
It’s what I always strive for, it’s what I always hope you take away from us. I hope that with each order, we also have tucked a bit of love, to take you on your travels, each week, as you leave us…
The market remains open until tomorrow morning, at 6am, before we close for the week.
