The local foods movement is alive and well in Champaign County! Here are some updates on other projects while we finalize our virtual market:
Local Producers Map:
Our local producers map is ready for publication and you will soon be able to find it on gochampaign.com. Copies will be distributed around the community, in the local telephone book, and other “hangouts”. The guide lists the location and contact information for nearly 50 local producers within our county. The map was a project of the Local Food Council and printed with the help of some local sponsors including the Monument Square District, Champaign Bank, the Community Improvement Corporation, the Chamber of Commerce, the Farm Bureau and others. It is a great start to finding a local source for Champaign County’s finest!

Good morning, lovely little market of love customers!
It’s already so bright, sunshiny, cheerful outside, and I wanted to throw all that brightness, your way, with a Saturday market blog!
While you are enjoying the weekend, don’t forget to take a bit of time to get those market orders in! The market is already off to a crazy great start, and you all want to be in on the fun!!
Beef is back on, from our producers!
Vegetables, lettuces, greens, herbs, plants, flowers…they are all beginning to come in!!
Our lovely face mask seamstress/dog treat maker is off on vacation, this week, finally able to travel to see her grandkids!!
Freshwater Farms told me that they will be adding your favorite items back to the mix, soon, along with new items!!
And, as always…the rest of your producers are hard at work, making this the amazing market, year round, that you have come to know, and love…
I am going to go get my orders in for the week, do a bit of baking for my customers, this morning, and then I am taking some time, this afternoon, to set up my own camping spot, in my teepee, in my own backyard, in a tribute to my long time music festival that had to be postponed, this year.
