The Weblog

The local foods movement is alive and well in Champaign County! Here are some updates on other projects while we finalize our virtual market:

Local Producers Map:
Our local producers map is ready for publication and you will soon be able to find it on gochampaign.com. Copies will be distributed around the community, in the local telephone book, and other “hangouts”. The guide lists the location and contact information for nearly 50 local producers within our county. The map was a project of the Local Food Council and printed with the help of some local sponsors including the Monument Square District, Champaign Bank, the Community Improvement Corporation, the Chamber of Commerce, the Farm Bureau and others. It is a great start to finding a local source for Champaign County’s finest!

Hazy Shade Of Winter

Look around
Leaves are brown
And the sky is a hazy shade of winter
Look around
Leaves are brown
There’s a patch of snow on the ground…
(Simon & Garfunkel)
(However, I am listening to The Bangles version, from the movie, Less Than Zero)

So…what a crazy market pick up!! That snow, sleet, ice, wind…all at once!! I am hoping that all customers got home, safe and sound!!

I am opening up the market with a few reminders…

Next week’s market pick up will be right before Valentine’s Day, so, if you need sweets for your sweet, you know that we offer them!!

If you need flowers for your sweetheart, a Galentine’s gift, or just a gift to yourself, because you are so amazing, we have a limited amount of the lovely Hawaii florals!!

AND…your market manager is tired, cold, and ready to settle in with a glass of wine…so, I will have the new Cosmic soups, breads, and Hippie and the Farmer frozen dinners all up, tomorrow!!

Thanks again for all of that came out in this weather!! You make the market what it is!!

XOXO,
Cosmic Pam
