The local foods movement is alive and well in Champaign County! Here are some updates on other projects while we finalize our virtual market:
Local Producers Map:
Our local producers map is ready for publication and you will soon be able to find it on gochampaign.com. Copies will be distributed around the community, in the local telephone book, and other “hangouts”. The guide lists the location and contact information for nearly 50 local producers within our county. The map was a project of the Local Food Council and printed with the help of some local sponsors including the Monument Square District, Champaign Bank, the Community Improvement Corporation, the Chamber of Commerce, the Farm Bureau and others. It is a great start to finding a local source for Champaign County’s finest!

Gosh, it was SO good to see so many of you, today, at market pick up!! I love our chats, catching up, and sharing smiles, love, and stories.
This market and it’s customers has always seemed like just a big group of old friends. It’s just a really good feeling wrapped into a really good market, with really good vibes.
I am opening the market for another week of ordering! Please note that I had to put my products back into vacay mode because Hippie and the Farmer are hosting our first event of the season, next Friday night, on sight (I’m sure you have all seen the crazy construction, flower planting, weeding, and the now permanent tent up. We are expanding, and getting ready to unveil the new event venue! A few years in the planning, and now the excitement of the first event, next Friday night!!
ANYWAY, all that to say, I will be super busy, next week, with food prep, and baking, and working on another show stopping dessert!! So, I will be off the market!!
But, there is still so much to choose from!! Make your lists, and get your orders in!!
