The local foods movement is alive and well in Champaign County! Here are some updates on other projects while we finalize our virtual market:
Local Producers Map:
Our local producers map is ready for publication and you will soon be able to find it on gochampaign.com. Copies will be distributed around the community, in the local telephone book, and other “hangouts”. The guide lists the location and contact information for nearly 50 local producers within our county. The map was a project of the Local Food Council and printed with the help of some local sponsors including the Monument Square District, Champaign Bank, the Community Improvement Corporation, the Chamber of Commerce, the Farm Bureau and others. It is a great start to finding a local source for Champaign County’s finest!

Thursday Pick Up!
Just a reminder that if you ordered, this week, your pick up is between 4pm-6pm, this evening!
If you need an alternate pick up time, just let me know, if you are not already on my Friday pick up list!
I will not be at the market, this evening, as my daughter, son-in-law, and baby Lennon are in town for a visit!! My dad, and your other market manager, Mark, will be manning the pick up!!

Tuesday Wake Up Call!
Good morning!!
Just your weekly reminder that the market will be closing at 8am, this morning!
Have you loaded up on freshness, yet?
The asparagus? The lettuce varieties! The spring garlic!!
Remember, also, that with this lovely weather, grilling season begins!! And, the market has so many meat options, and Freshwater Farms options!
OH…and the never ending question at the market…is the bacon in, yet? YES!!! It’s back, and it’s ready for ordering!!
Don’t forget that ELM Tree will be leaving on vacation, soon, so stock up on soaps and oils before she takes off! Her oils are amazing for house cleaning, and the scent that you are left with is the best!!! Do you have glass shower doors? Her Lemongrass oil makes them sparkling clean! I love Thieves for all of my wood furnishings, and the Patchouli….well, it’s all I ever wear!!
Baked goods!! The perfect ending to a grilled dinner with meat, asparagus, spring garlic (amazing on the grill) and salads….all, right here!!
Eggs, honey, maple syrup, cheese, milk, mustard, jams, sauces, spices…why not get it fresh, get it local?
Frozen pet treats for those hot days with your best friend? Dog treats?
What about candles in all the spring and summer scents? Treat your body to the luxury of hemp body butter!
AND…if all goes well at my surgeons appointment at the end of the month, I will be back to baking the breads that you all love, in June!!

Thursday Evening Announcements!
Hello!!!! It’s time to reopen the market for the week, and there are two announcements!!
The first is from Laura, at ELM Tree Essentials!
I just wanted to give you all a heads up! May 25th will be the last market pick up before we go on vacation mode until the middle of June. So, be sure to get your orders placed these next 2 weeks for any of your soap or oil needs!
The second is that it is finally asparagus season!! And, Beth will be adding her asparagus from Harrigan’s Harvest to the market, Saturday, for next Thursday’s pick up!!!

Market. We just finished our first batch of chicken for 2023! We are
restocked on chicken breasts and thighs.
