It’s that time of year…it’s music festival time, and you know how excited that makes your market manager! Time to cue up the 60s tunes, baby, because I blow out of town, this Thursday, for the beloved Jubilee Festival that I attend, each year!

I work hard, each and every day, and I work even harder, on this week, each year, JUST so I can hit the open road with my trusty gang of pals…destination, the gates of Maggie’s Farm…a weekend of Grateful Dead music, dancing, camping, forgetting everything, leaving it all behind.

It’s the weekend that revives me, reunites me with the people who love me, and rekindles my love of just being…just nothing, where my biggest decision is which stage I want to migrate to for which band. What cocktail I may want. What tapestry to hang in each spot of our tapestry lounge.

The gates of the Jubilee, and Maggie’s Farm are like going home, going up the country. The long lane is a welcoming feeling. The festival greeters welcome you to a weekend world of hippies, love, and brotherhood/sisterhood. It’s just groovy, man…

So, much like my beloved Maggie’s Farm experience, this market holds the same welcoming, love, and grooviness for us all.

I hope that I am able to bring that to our market as your manager. The love fest that I want out of life. The kindness, goodness, and local love.

This week, let this market help you go up country. Let it be your love fest. We have so much to love, right now!

We have seasonal goodness! Greens, lettuce, herbs, early garlic, STRAWBERRIES!!! We’ve got it all, arriving weekly!!!

Oh, wait…it’s not a winter’s day? I was so confused these past few days!! Yesterday was finally a beautiful, bright, warm day, but now, back to the cold, drizzle, gray…enough to make this market manager crazy!

On these days, I let my mind drift back to a time when I lived on the west coast, California, Los Angeles, San Francisco. The sleepy little beach hideaways, the perfect coastal drives, the warmth. I lived in quite a few places in the years I was out there…Venice Beach, Westwood, Malibu, Santa Monica, up in the canyons, in the heart of San Francisco. I felt like the luckiest girl in the world to be living in the place that I grew up wanting to escape to.

On these gray days, I love to think back to the places made me happy, made me excited, and forever have etched amazing memories in my brain.

This market can do the same for me on these gray and drizzly days. It makes me happy to see the lovely produce beginning to turn up on our market pages. The vendors make me smile. The customers and our bonds with them, give me a sense of love. And, this market is always showing me excitement!

In case you didn’t know, the vendors that are a part of this market are top notch. They bring the best of their best to us, each week. They are amazing in heart, amazing in spirit, and amazing to work with. I hope they know just how happy, and full of love, they make me, as their market manager!

It’s this time of year when we continue to welcome back some of our seasonal family. We welcomed back Beth, of Harrigan’s Harvest, Lee and Jennifer, of End Of The Road, and now we welcome back, Kevin, with his lettuces from Davidson Family Farms!

I’m not going to lie…it’s been a week! It’s been a day in, day out, big huge irritation. Daily. Testing my patience. Making me practice my big smiles. Testing my ability to just stay calm.

Nothing huge or earth shattering, but sure enough…each day. Smile.

I have a good friend who tells us to put it in a bubble and let it go. Just as I did, I was sending another bubble, and another….it was a free for all of bubbles. Music festival like bubbles.

So, yes….smile, smile, smile. It helps. Turn up the music, chat with a friend, laugh, dance, pour a glass of wine….whatever calms you after a week like this. Just let that stuff go. Pronto! Smile!

It’s so nice to know that after a week like this, easy street is just one block away, with kindness very near.

That’s what our little local market is all about. Helping you smile, giving you a break, making it all easy. Groovy. Steady.

Well, today certainly does fit the song title and lyric of this Weblog! It’s been a non-stop, cold, dreary, drizzling kind of day. The kind of day that just continued to be more gray, more cold, and more like moving into early winter instead of late spring!

But, the good news for days like, today, is that the sun will always shine, it has to get warmer, and you always have bright and shiny things, like this little local market of love, to see you through!

Who cares what the weather is doing if you don’t have to be out in it to shop! Who cares if it’s dreary, when we have so many products that scream spring, sunshine, and nice days ahead!

At this market, we ONLY know goodness, and smiles, and happiness, and lovely products. So, curl up, get cozy, and start your orders! You will be so happy when Thursday rolls around, and all you have to do is stop at the YMCA to grab your pocket full of sunshine with spring produce, live plants and herbs, spring garlic, and all of the rest of the products!

It’s that time, little local market of love customers!!

It’s 7:30 on a Tuesday night, and that means you have until 10pm to get your orders all ready, and placed!!

You don’t want to miss out on the amazing asparagus, the spring garlic, the live plants and herbs, and everything else that this market has to offer!!

We are rockin’ right along with amazing numbers, customers, and large orders!! I love seeing so many orders from customers who we have not seen in a while!! And, of course, it’s amazing to see each and every one of you, each week!
