Winter Weather Instructions

Good morning!!

Now that we are entering into the real kind of winter weather, your market managers, and the YMCA, would like to make sure that all customers have the proper winter weather instructions for Thursday evening order pick-up, should the weather be in question, on these winter Thursdays…

Champaign Oh. Locally Grown Virtual Market Weather Emergency Customers pick up schedule.

In case of impending severe weather follow these instruction.

Level One Emergency – The YMCA is open. The market will be as scheduled. Normal customer pickup time 4:30-6:30pm. If you do not feel comfortable driving, please call and make arrangements for a delayed customer pickup. Please call Pam-926-4833

Level Two Emergency – The YMCA is open. The Market will be as scheduled. Normal customer pickup time 4:30-6:30pm. If you do not feel comfortable driving, please call and make arrangements for a delayed customer pickup. Please call Pam- 926-4833

Level Three Emergency – The YMCA is closed. The Market is closed. The Market will be rescheduled for Friday (the next day) Normal customer pickup time 4:30-6:30pm. If you do not feel comfortable driving, please call and make arrangements for a delayed customer pickup. Please call Pam-926-4833

If there is a Level 3 by Noon, Vendors don’t deliver and customers don’t come. Refer to Friday delivery and pickup schedule.

Hazy Shade Of Winter

Look around…

When I work on these market Weblogs, I am usually on my home computer which is situated looking out my windows to the world. Or, the windows that run along the whole backside of my house, allowing me an amazing view of hills, fields, ponds. Today, the view is hazy…that really blurry hazy shade of winter.

Not quite snowing, not quite raining, not even freezing cold…but a mixture that puts a muted touch to the landscape.

While I am typing to you, this morning, I have my 5th cup of coffee, tunes, and the view. And, in my thoughts, I am thinking what a perfect morning for keeping warm, getting the week organized, and getting your orders placed. It’s the perfect day for staying inside and shopping our little local market of love..

Get it all done before the big Super Bowl frenzy begins, tonight…

My teams didn’t even come close to the Super Bowl, this year, I am not a fan of either team in the game, but I want everyone to have fun, enjoy, and be safe if you will be on the roads.

I am just basking in the excitement of last night’s Kentucky win…

Ok…get your groove on, get those orders in, enjoy the game, and let us take the hassle out of your shopping!!

Do you feel the love? Do you feel like our little local market of love is like being home, going home, feeling at home?

I learned, a very long time ago, that home is wherever you feel the love. Family, friends, a place, a time…If it brings love to your heart, well, then you ARE home.

I get to see so much, on so many levels, at this market. I see my own work, I see the work of my hard working assistants, Mark and Charlene. The hard work of each vendor, in this market. The love and the care that they each put into their work, their products, their customer base. The dedicated hours that the YMCA gives us. And, the work of you, our customers, of this little local market of love. Without you, where would the love be?

Each week, I watch as friendships happen, as trust between vendors and customers, builds. As trust in this market continues to go, full steam ahead. I get to chat at the market, greet vendors and customers, share tidbits of conversation, answer questions, and hopefully bring a bit of sunshine and song to everyone I happen to come into contact with, each week.

Thank you, to each customer, vendor, assistant manager, YMCA staff, for making this market feel like home, each week.

Each of you is very important….I thank you, I love you, and I love that together, we build this little market that has become our home…

It's A Sunshine Day!

Happy Sunny Day, little local market of love customers!!

It’s cold, it’s still a bit icy, and there is still snow but it is…..SUNNY!!! And, right now, it’s making me, and I am sure, you, very happy!!

It’s Tuesday, I am about to get crazy busy with all things Art Affair On The Square, today, so I wanted to take this time to remind you to get your orders in!

Cold Rain and Snow

Jerry had the right vibe…out in the cold rain and snow…

If you look out your windows, that is exactly what you will see. It’s January in Ohio, we should be expecting it, should be ready for it, should just accept it. But, this girl, your market manager, just always feels a bit of a sinking mood when I see the sight, feel the chill, and know that it is here.

I know we need the seasons, but in my heart, I keep sunshine, in my eyes, I see only blue skies, and in my head, I only have warm daydreams…

This truly is going to be one of those days for curling up with coffee or tea, reading a book, listening to music, or watching a really great movie. It’s also one of those days that allows you to get your thoughts on the week, lets you get organized, and makes you want to get your weekly grocery list ready.

What better way to fill that list than with our little market of love?? You can order from the comfort of, well, anywhere…you can order with ease, you know that you will not be out fighting the cold, the snow, or the people, you can take your time, learn about us, learn about our products, and take pride in the fact that when you shop from us, you are shopping from all that is local, all that is the heart and soul of your community.
