So…Elvis…I am known for throwing an epic party at the drop of a hat. Usually, my best parties are the impromptu, unplanned gathering of my best friends!! Most of my nearest and dearest are out of town, out of state, but quite a few are still in close proximity. I love when my out of town besties and my locals gather. If a party erupts at my house, you can be sure of lots of cool tunes, lots of hugs, lots of chatter, my kitchen ablaze with drink makers, foodies, and fun takers!

The party always spills down into the party area of the house where more mayhem continues.

Elvis, late in the night, is always tossed on. Lots of dancing begins, and lots of house shaking takes over. The excitement is electric, and I look around with all of my dancing pals from the past and from the now, and smile with a look of content, satisfaction, and mischief. My friends are my world!! My oldest and dearest, have my heart…

Just like this market, tonight!! It is erupting with burning love, loads of excitement and LOTS AND LOTS of returning of old, familiar faces!!! BUT…we also are seeing record numbers of first time customers!! And, we are climbing, climbing, to a super high market!!

Keep it up…keep showing us that burning love and dance it out with me!!!

Happy Tuesday, Local Loves!!

It’s quite the dreary, chilly morning for so early in October. My Cosmic soul kitchen was in operation very early with warm ovens, mega amounts of coffee to fuel me, and lots of music.

My mood, the day, what I am baking, usually determines the music I will blare from my kitchen. Today was just cold at 4am:) Where you don’t want to leave warm blankets but you know it’s what you have to do. So, I was at it, early, got a surprise Vibe on Viber from my Cosmic co-ed who is studying in Italy. It was nice to have an early chat. But, it made me miss her, terribly. It made me miss other friends who don’t live near, and it made me seek out the music that comforts me in these times of bittersweet memories in early mornings.

The band who I used, today, in this Weblog, is that kind of band. Sweet tunes, amazing voices, soulful verses. Just music that speaks to you in the dark morning of baking, missing people, and waking up…

These lyrics also speak to me about how much I love being able to fall back on the friends who are near me, here, my business, and this local love of a market. I take great comfort in knowing that this little market just continues it’s growth, continues it’s journey, continues to build from what was once a vision. These are the things that warm my heart, make me proud, and make me excited to see where the next turn will take us!

We are having an AMAZING market, this week!!! We have this whole day, today, until 10pm, tonight, to take it to a whole new level!!! Remember, we are trying to break our already amazing record so that I can proudly announce our numbers as I speak about this market at the upcoming State Of The Plate!!

I remember being a club kid back in the early 80s. This song would be on overdrive, lights flashing, lots of groovy dance moves, lots of bad 80s fashion. But, what a fun time it was!! The excitement, the adrenaline, the non-stop energy…

Much like our own look of love on the local front!! It is an exciting time to be a part of this local movement!! It is an exciting week as we prepare for the upcoming State Of The Plate!! Our local faces will all be on display, products will be used in all dishes for the lunch, our local speakers will have their 15 minutes of fame, we will embrace the amazing local love! We hope to spread the excitement, we hope to introduce you to the look of local, and we hope continue to go full steam ahead in this amazing little local market!!

Let’s make this a total Look Of Love, Look Of Local Week!! Let’s rock the house, the dance floor, the community…show your love and your support but placing just one tiny order!! So, it was the MOST amazing, golden Sunday, today. It was one of those days where I greeted it with large cups of coffee, no real plan on the horizon, and nothing much on my schedule!

I headed to town and before I left my driveway, I got a phone call from a friend, plans were made, and we spent the morning and afternoon doing the whole local vibe.

We had coffee at The Depot, we headed to Oktoberfest, we bought little trinkets of local jewelry, we enjoyed the sights and sounds, we returned to The Depot for lunch! Because lunch at The Depot means sandwiches on Cosmic breads. We went on a little shopping trip for super cool boots, and then we had long conversations that took on the meandering that only two good friends understand. Her life, my life, the next step for my business, her business…just a really golden day. A very pleasant valley Sunday!

I love when a weekend of local activities keep the town busy, keep everyone in the local spirit, and when they make me so proud, once again, to be alive in this vibrant community that supports local so well!

This little local market of love is one of the best local vibes, around! It is Sunday evening, a pefect fall evening with a bit of chill to the air. Get all cozy, think about your week, think about your local food needs, and place your orders!!

I bring to you this most exciting news…our State Of The Plate just capped off the reservations at our max of…drumroll…200!!!!!

Can you feel me dancing? Can you hear me singing? This little State of the Plate of last year has reached AMAZING levels, this year!!!

This is big, this is huge, this is Local Love. This is Local Pride. This is what this little market is all about!

Thank you to those who bought tickets, thank you to the amazing speakers, thank you for being a part of this market.

State Of The Plate!!

Ok, so I came to you, last week, informing you of this local event, telling you that I would take reservations and that Oct. 2nd would be the cut off. Just a small event. Just a few people. Some of your fellow vendors as speakers. A few local dishes.

Well…hello, my lovelies!!

This has exploded, sky rocketed, and I am happy to report that we are looking at almost 200 people in reservations!!! Yes, we have hit the big time!!!

So, my problem comes into play…they are capping it off at 200. There are just a few spots to go, and I am afraid if I wait to take your reservations, tomorrow night, I will have to turn you away:( I don’t want to take that chance.

SOOOOOO…if you want reservations for this HUGE, HUGE local event, call the Chamber office ASAP!! Today!!! Make the reservations so you have them!!! They are waiting for your call:)
